Jehovah Tsidkenu

*Jehovah Tsidkenu*

-Eddy Joel Silsbee

May all Glory to our Lord, The Righteous.

We are looking at the names being called by the Character of God.

*Note*: These are not names of God - rather these are words that refer to His character.

Today we look at the word *Jehovah Tsidkenu*

Meaning : The Lord Our Righteousness

This Hebrew word does not appear as it is in English Bible but with its translated meaning it occurs twice in Old Testament. Both of them are used in Jeremiah only. Jer. 23:6; 33:16

Tsedek (tseh'-dek), from which Tsidkenu derived, means "to be stiff," "to be straight," or "righteous" in Hebrew. When the word Jehovah is combined - Jehovah Tsidkenu - it can be translated as "The Lord Who is our Righteousness."

Other related Bible References with the word Tsedek used are: Genesis 15:6; Psalm 4:1; 5:8; 24:5; 31:1; 36:10; 71:15; 89:16; Matthew 6:33; Romans 4:22; 5:18; 8:10; 10:4; 1Corinthians 1:30; 2Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 3:9

"Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; Isa 55:6
