In series we see Numbers used in Bible.
Today we look at significance of Number 6.
#6 – refers to Man or mortality or
Godlessness.
Man was created on 6th Day, also the
serpent and other animals! Gen 1:25
Man was asked to labour for 6 days. Exo
31:15
Do not murder… that’s 6th
commandment !! Exo 20:13
Interested to note Cain & his
descendants not mentioned after 6th generation. Gen 4:17-26
The flood in the time of Noah came in his
600th year ! Gen 7:6
God relieved Job from 6 disasters (Job
5:19)
Jesus Christ mentions woe to wicked 6
times in His speech (Luke 11:42-52)
At the 6th hour, darkness came at the time
of Jesus’ crucifixion (Mt 27:45)
Nebuchadnezzar’s idol was 60cubits tall,
6cubits wide. Dan 3:1
Apostle John named 6 type of names for the
devil in in his Revelation. Snake, serpent, devil, satan, deceiver &
accuser.
The sixth clause in the prayer of the
"Our Father/ Lord's Prayer" petitions that we not be led into sin and
be delivered from evil. Mt 6:13
The man who is Godlessness, lack of
Godliness (7-1), without God, against God, rebelling God – is represented as
beast and such man is represented by 666 (Rev 13:18)
