Good afternoon brother,
Wanted to ask you something about marriage.
What does Bible says about marrying a girl or boy with large gap of age difference?
but not blood related.
Answer :
There are certain views to be evaluated in this before looking at what Bible says..
1- Psychologically, major age difference will surely be a problem in their later married life
2- Looking at various aspects Government has set the age difference of 6 years (Women @ 18, Man @ 24)
3- It is always better the man at higher age than women - due to the understanding/analyzing of several issues & you may argue that current era women are equal in knowledge. But there cannot be two leaders for a team. So, the higher rules !
4- Marriage is not for limited period. So, we should not think out of box as the experience / history of several couples on failures.
5- Physically, both should have long life. The senior might die much earlier than the partner, which leaves the other's life miserable.
6- Physical condition will not support in raising / bearing (pregnancy) will be at jeopardy.
In Biblical
1- Eve was created to be a perfect partner to Adam
2- She was at same age of Adam
3- Bible says that wife shall be subdued to husband. This will not be achieved if women at higher age.
4- Abraham was just 10 years elder than Sarah
5- When there are lots of options available, selecting or short-listing in much age difference may be a result of lust to flesh or lust to money.
6- I presume Ruth is much younger than Boaz
I think have covered most of the areas
Note : Personally I prefer, the suitable age difference between boy & girl shall be 5-7 years. Boy at the higher side of course.
