*Jehovah M’kaddesh*
-Eddy Joel Silsbee
All Glory and Honour to our Father in Heaven, who sanctifies us.
We are looking at the names being called by the Character of God.
*Note*: These are not names of God - rather these are words that refer to His character.
Today we look at the word *Jehovah M’kaddesh*
Meaning : The Lord Who Sanctifies You / The Lord Who Makes Holy.
This Hebrew word does not appear as it is in English Bible but twice appears as a full translated word in Exo. 31:13 & Lev. 20:8.
But, In that context, it appears more than 700 times.
Mekoddishkem derives from the Hebrew word qâdash meaning "sanctify," "holy," or "dedicate." Sanctification is the separation of an object or person to the dedication of the Holy. When the two words are combined - Jehovah Mekoddishkem - it can be translated as "The Lord who sets you apart."
You can’t sanctify yourself even you pierce your body or by pilgrimages or by offering or by shaving your head or by any means.
Only by the Living, Magnificient and Almighty Lord can sanctify you from your sins.
1Samuel 2:2 No other is holy as the Lord, for there is no other God but you: there is no Rock like our God.
Exodus 15:11 Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? who is like you, in holy glory, to be praised with fear, doing wonders?
Lev. 20::26. And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.
