Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ did *neither drink nor ate for 40 days* (Lk 4:2).
No man can stay without either drink or eat for 3 or maximum 4 days. He will surely collapse.
For the name sake, many turns to fast for 40 days by just :
Drinking juice or
Only milk or
One meal a day !!
This is not fasting but self control for a sake of your own decision..
Jesus Christ told us to follow *His teachings* !!
He never said fast 40 days like me,
crucify yourself in the cross and die like me etc !!
Bible does not allow *to advertise* your “Fasting Prayer”, Fasting Festivals, Fasting Melas, Special Fasting Sessions etc..
If anyone wants to fast, its upto them.
But, when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that *your fasting will not be noticed by others* but by your Father who sees in secret. And your Father who is in secret will reward you." Mat 6:17-18
