#258 *QUESTION*: *What is the worship that pleases the Lord*?

#258

*QUESTION*:

*What is the worship that pleases the Lord*?

*Answer*:

For many,
this record will be offensive ... what do I do? When the verse says so ... God will love when man repents!!! Let us make use of the days - when the people are not afraid, but in obedience to God - and He will correct everything.

This is a very lengthy post - the most important question.
Read patiently.

In the early days, men prayed to God with animal sacrifices. (Gen. 4: 5)

When King Saul made a mistake, he was urged *to obey* rather than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22)

He loved those worshiped Him as God (Joshua 1: 7; 1 Kings 11:38; Jer 7:23)

Jesus Christ Explained to Us Why God Did Not Accept the Pharisee's Prayer (Mt 6: 5; Lk 18: 10-14)

“God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth." ( Jn 4:24 )

The rest of it - is vain worship.

You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said:
8 'This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me;
9  in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' ( Mt 15: 7-9 )

*Which worship is pleasing to God*?
The commandment of God is to only to observe the *New Testament Truth*, not bring ideas of man in it. He loves it.

*How to worship*?

Christians Worship: Christians should gather on the first day of the week to worship God (Acts 20: 7, 1 Cor 16: 2)

Do not miss gathering (Heb 10:25)

But all things should be done decently and in order. (1 Cor. 14:40)

*Prayer*:
We pray to the Father through Christ. So the word "Lord" cannot be used in prayer, as these words refer to Christ (Acts 2:36, Phil 2:11, (Heb 4: 14-18, Col 3:17, Jn 14: 6, 14).

Prayer is communication with God (Phil 4: 6)

God communicates with us through His Word (Heb 1: 1-2)

Praying is the essential daily christian duty (1 Thess. 5:17)

Prayer is essential in the gathering (Acts 12: 5, 12)

*Christians are taught to pray for the following*:

One must pray for forgiveness of sin that he/she did when weak and ignorant (Acts 8: 18-24, I John 1: 9).

Dedicated Praises to God (Matt 6: 9)

Pray for the Countless Blessings of God (Eph. 5:20)

Pray for the Power of Understanding (Jas 1: 5)

Pray for Christians, for others, for authorities, and for our enemies (Eph. 6:18; I Tim. 2: 1-2; Mt 5:44)

Let Us Be Free from Temptation (Mt 26:41; Jas 1:13; 1 Cor 10:13)

Good fellowship with all who believe in God (Jn 17: 20-21)

Pray for our daily Need (Matt 6:11)

When we pray according to the will of God, we receive it (Mt 7: 7-11, 21:22, 1 Jn 5:14)

*Singing*:
Jesus and the Apostles sang (Mt 26:30; Acts 16:25)

Christians should sing and praise the Lord (Eph. 5:19)

Sing psalms, hymns, and proverbs and advise each other.

*ONLY SINGING IS THERE - Nothing is mentioned about Instrumental music, clapping, dancing or jumping*.

The song serves two things:

1) Sing and praise God. We express our joy and praise Him with song (Ps 66: 1-2; Jas 5:13)

2) Helps to Teach and encourage Fellow Christians (Col 3:16)

It is not the Scripture to set up a choir and only to make them sing. The entire assembly should sing.

Nowhere in the New Testament is it found that musical instruments were used in worship. As musical instruments cannot speak, preach, or greet, the singing of them is like bringing a foreign fire. We cannot recognize what is not in the Scriptures (Eph. 5:19; Col 3:16)

*Offering*:
Blessed is the man who gives (Acts 20:35)

Offerings on the first day of every week (1 Cor 16: 2)

Never forget that everything is the God's (Ps 24: 1)

We must pay a certain amount of money for the growth of the church which you have decided (1 Cor. 16: 1-2)

Not 10 percent; but more generous than that (2 Cor 8: 1-5)

It is not to be a compulsory offering..."Each of you must give what you have decided in your heart, not with regret or under compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Cor.9: 7).

When You Give It - God Will Respond (Luke 6:38)

It should be used for those in need and for the church's needs (Acts 2:45; Rom 10: 14-15; I Cor 9:14).

*The Lord's feast / Communion*:

Christ declared His feast before His crucifixion. (Mt 26: 26-29, Mark 14: 22-25, Luke 22: 17-20, 1 Cor 11: 23-26)

A Christian is free from sin - it is a reminder of what God did for Himself or how He redeemed us from sin.

We must remember that we were once sinners wandering and remember that we are now God's children by the death of Christ.

We must remember that we are within the new law (I Cor 11: 27-29).

2 items are used in Christ's Supper. (1 Cor. 11:26)
One - bread
Two - The wine

Unleavened Bread - Refers to the Body of Christ (Luke 22:19)
The leaven implies sin - the bread must be unleavened (Heb 7:26)

The wine represents the blood of Christ (Matt. 26:28)

Early Christians joined in Lord's feast on the First Day of the Week (Acts 20: 7)

The Lord's Supper is to be taken on the first day of the week of Christ's resurrection ... every week .... once a month - no command in Scripture!!

*Sermon*

Reading, Advising, and Teaching the bible - Part of Worship (1 Tim. 4:13; Acts 20: 7)

Men only should preach in the congregation (1 Cor. 14:34)

Man must preach what God says (Jonah 3: 2) - not his own travel stories and not his own experiences.

Preachers must be careful to please God only. (Acts 4: 19-20; Gal 1:10; I Thess 2: 4).

The word of God is to be spoken only in accordance with the scriptures and the proverbs and the stage (I Tim. 4:13; II Tim. 2:15; Acts 2:16, 25, 34; Acts 7; Acts 8:35; Acts 18:28).

The Word of God is enough - for the pulpit !! (II Tim. 3: 16-17; I Cor. 4: 6).

Admonish bad teachings - Gal 1: 6-9, I Tim 1: 6-7, I Tim 4: 1-3, II Tim 2: 16-18, II Tim 3: 5-9, Tit 1: 9-11 ).

Should Not bear Special Degrees like Father, Reverend, Pastor etc (Mt 23: 8-12)

Elders (pastors / overseers mean the same thing) should administer the church (up 20:28)

Preachers / Evangelists should preach - 2 Tim 4: 1-2

Evangelist - Managing the Congregation is Not a God-Ordinance !!

Administration is different - Preacher / Evangelism is different

Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, (Heb 12:28)
