Good Friday – Death Anniversary for the living?

*Good Friday – Death Anniversary for the living?*

by: Eddy Joel Silsbee

Greetings in the name of the living Christ.

Hindus perform Tithi or Devasam Puja once a year on the day of the dead according to their Shastra ritual and perform charitable deeds in his memory throughout the day.

Christ rose on the third day from his death, just as He had said. "He asked us to cry for our sins and He shed His blood on the cross and died on the cross with unbearable and cruel death."

The apostles remembered the first day of the week (Sunday) when they realized that Jesus Christ had told His disciples to remember His cruel death. Acts 20: 7

Thus, Christians remembers Christ’s death weekly.

Good Friday is one of the deceptions of those who infiltrate and know the usual interjections of cursed human habits unrelated to the Bible in the name of Christianity!

From year to year the Catholic religion introduced many of the festivals that were in circulation in Rome.

People who were longing for festivals like they had in their religion before coming into Catholic. In order to retain them, Rome adapted all major festivals and paganisms into its own Catholic religion.

Ishtar celebrated as Easter named as the day of Christ's resurrection, and succeeded in convincing their religion that the previous Friday was the day Jesus was crucified.

Those who call themselves Christians, as if blinded by forgetting these stories, meditate on the seven words spoken by Christ on the cross on Good Friday and cry out that Io is dead and then bring a boiled egg and rabbit the following Sunday - once a year to observe that Jesus is risen.

No one knows what date Good Friday came last year, regardless of the calendar !!

There is no evidence that the early Christians observed any such festivals !!

It is true that Christ was born.

It is true that Christ died on the cross.

The same is true of the resurrection of Christ on the third day after his death and burial.

This is a history that no one can deny.

The last book of the New Testament is the book of Revelation.

It was written about 95 AD.

That is, from the 40 days after Christ's resurrection there is nowhere in the Scriptures that the apostles or early Christians celebrated the birth of Christ or his resurrection each year, approximately (33-95) 62 years from the year of ascension nothing is seen such are celebrated or conducted !! Acts 1: 3, Acts. 1: 9, 1Cor. 15: 5-6

Christ commanded His disciples to remember His death. They followed the same. Luke 22:19

Rather than having their focus on following the scriptures, they carefully calculate *that Easter Day will somehow fall on a Sunday* every year.

*How is Easter Day calculated*?

Easter is determined to be the Sunday following Full-moon, which falls after March 21st.

Once the date of Easter is decided, the Thursday before that and the Fridays are determined to be the Holy Thursday and Good Friday.

How can their account, which refers to Full-moon, be searched *in the Scriptures?*

What has this got to do with the festivals and the commandments of Christ !! ??

If you ask me what is wrong in Remembering the Death of Christ yearly once? We as Christians are obliged to find reference in Scripture on this to support our activities.

Isa 1:13-14  Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination to me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot endure; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.  Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble to me; I am weary to bear them.

The Bible never mentions about any such festivals are ever observed by Christians or the Apostles.

It is unscriptural for us to do anything that is not said in scripture or approved by the apostles !!

As like an idol guards the village,

Another for education etc.. we see many idols in India.

Likewise, Ishtar was one of the idol that Greeks worshiped as the spring deity.

Easter is the idol festival that worships the Ishtar deity !!

It is more important to take care of your soul from falling into fire rather worrying for God Luke 23:28

The Scriptures instructs us to commemorate Lord's death weekly. Acts 20: 7

Let us follow the scriptures and live as Christians.
