Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We are looking at the names being called by the Character of God.
Today we look at the word *“Adonai”*
Meaning : *Lord / Master*
This Hebrew word is been translated and we don’t see this word as it is in English Bible.
According to Scholars, this term appears 434 times in Old Testament. In the book of Ezekial alone, it appears 200 times.
First Time it appears in Bible at Gen. 15:2
Adonai is the verbal parallel to Yahweh and Jehovah. Adonai is plural; the singular is adon.
In reference to God the plural Adonai is used. When the singular adon is used, it usually refers to a human lord.
Adon is used 215 times to refer to men. Occasionally in Scripture and predominantly in the Psalms, the singular adon is used to refer to God as well (Exo. 34:23).
Few Scriptural References are : Gen 15:2, 18:3, 20:4; Ps 35:23
May the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be upon you all.
