Greetings to you in the name of our Lord.
For few it is Sabbath day, few it is 7th day, many calls Sundays as Sabbath day !!
According to the Bible, Sunday is not a day of rest. There are only seven days in a week. Sunday is the first day of the week. Exo. 31:15
Sabbath day is Saturday. Exo. 16:26
Christians should gather to worship God on the first day of the week, not on the Sabbath (7th Day).
Not as like in the Old Testament, We notice less importance to Sabbath day after the resurrection of Christ. Why Christians gather on the First day of the week? (Sunday)?
* Christ resurrected on the *First day of the week*. Mk 16:9
* After His resurrection, He appeared 6 times to His disciples on the *First day of the week* – Mk 16:9, Mt 28:5-9, Lk 24:34; 24:13-15; 24:33,36+John 20:19-26
* From the resurrection, till the day He was taken upto Heaven – Disciples gathered on the *First day of the week*. John 20:19,26, Acts 2:1
* Church was established on the *First day of the week*. Acts 2:1
* The Holy Spirit was given to the Apostles on the *First day of the week*. Acts 2:1-4
* For the first time, Gospel proclaimed by Peter was on the *First day of the week*. Acts 2:1, 38, 40-41
* Disciples gathered to break bread on the *First day of the week* Acts 20:7
* They were instructed to collect offering on the *First day of the week* – 1 Cor 16:1-2
The commandment to keep Sabbath holy was ended at the cross. Rom 10:4
Giving importance to Sabbath intead of First day of the week will bring problems automatically to life. James 2:10
Loosen the grip and let the Truth enter your hearts..
Its Lord's day today. Let us all gather together to Worship our God and remember the Lord's death.
