Greetings to you in the name of our Lord
God instructed to leave the edges/corners of cultivation from the field, so the poor can be served from that.
Our Lord instructed his disciples to collect the remnants of food in basket after the serving.
Attitude on wasting food is considered guilty in the eyes of our Lord
Do not waste food at all. It is God's blessing to us. It shall not be ignored.
Ezekiel 16:49 Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy.
John 6:12 And when they had had enough, Jesus said to his disciples, Take up the broken bits which are over, so that nothing may be wasted.
Leviticus 23:22 And when you get in the grain from your land, do not let all the grain at the edges of the field be cut, and do not take up the grain which has been dropped in the field; let that be for the poor, and for the man from another country: I am the Lord your God.
From the time when every drop of the available food sprouted, it has grown, protected, processed, prepared and fed into the hands of many. When it comes to our hands after so much effort - we should thank and accept with gratitude, joy, and thankfulness that it has come into our hands because God has remembered us by His grace. Mk 8:6, Acts 27:35, Mt 6:11
Do not waste. It is equivalent to disobeying God. Gen 1:29-30, Ps 104:14-15, 136:25
