(Q&A) From whom a person can take Baptism ? [Or] What is the eligibility for a servant of God to officiate baptism service?

Question 18-Sep-2016:
From whom a person can take Baptism ? [Or] What is the eligibility for a servant of God to officiate baptism service?

Dear Brother,
Praises to our Lord.
Glad to see your email.

Scriptural support in answering your question is as follows:
Some churches kept a dignified special qualified persons to officiate baptism. But, looking at the scripture, we find something else.

In Acts 8:35-39 we see the Eunuch was baptized by the person (Philip) who taught him about Jesus Christ. But in other most cases we could not find who actually baptized. You can refer to Acts 2:41; 8:12; 9:18; 10:48; 16:33; 18:8.

We are simply told that the people were baptized.  Thus, the importance is for obeying God in baptism rather who performs !!

In John 4:1,2. & 1 Corinthians 1:14-17, we can find teacher was different than who baptized. We could notice Apostle Paul was glad that he did not baptized.

Hence, the person who baptize does not need to be a highly experienced / nominated / ordained etc etc as we see few churches elevated humans. But, surely the person who officiate must be baptized in order that he baptize others scripturally for the right reason and in the right way.

The validity of the baptism is by our Saviour and does not depends on the qualification of the person who officiates it.
I hope it clarifies.
in Christ,
Eddy Joel
